Regulatory Officer - Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (Talent Pool)

About This RoleThe Department of Education (DoE) hosts the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, responsible for regulating early childhood education and care services. The Regulatory Officer supports the Authority by applying relevant ECEC legislation, standards, policies and guidelines in line with the Regulating for Quality policy. The role reports to the Manager, Regulation, in the Regional Office, Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, Early Childhood Regulation & Communication Division.
Responsibilities- Support the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority by consistently and fairly applying relevant ECEC legislation, standards, policies and guidelines in the regulation of the ECEC sector within the context of the Regulating for Quality policy.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Regional Offices, Central Office Teams and ECEC providers and services to achieve regulatory outcomes.
- Conduct assessment and rating of education and care services across Queensland.

Qualifications / About You- Experience as a regulator or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of regulating the ECEC sector.
- Experience in conducting assessment and rating or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and complete training in conducting assessment and rating.
- Ability to analyse evidence and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritise and complete projects and tasks efficiently; strong decision-making and risk management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of different stakeholders.
- Attach a maximum 2-page resume (11 font only) listing two referees, one of whom is your current supervisor.
- Complete the questionnaire outlining which regional offices you are willing to work from.
- Submit a maximum 2-page response to the following questions: explain your understanding of regulatory activities as described in Regulating for Quality; outline how you have prepared for this application and why you are drawn to this role; describe how you have used interpersonal skills to resolve a complex issue.
Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.
