Counterpoint Young Women's Refuge provides crisis accommodation and case support work support to 17- 24-year-old young women who are currently homeless. The program offers short-term accommodation for a minimum of 6-8 weeks with the goal of sustainable housing upon exit. Young women who leave the program are then offered time limited outreach support.
Your rolePerform a lead role as the House Coordinator within the Counterpoint Young Women's Refuge. This position requires an individual with a strong working knowledge of the youth homelessness sector and the ability to work with young people from a wide variety of backgrounds. This position requires strong leadership and organisational skills as well as the ability to coordinate to the day-to-day operations of the refuge.
Make Your Mark- Working with young women across ages 17-24.
- Commitment to the principles and practice of quality care in residential settings for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, and to promote autonomy and self-determination for clients.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team, to meet program goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership, support and supervision support workers including casuals, case management and therapeutic employees.
- Manage the day-to-day running of the refuge.
- Broad knowledge of the systems and services that surround young people.
- Experience in housing, community services and youth mental health.
- Ensure that therapeutic interventions and responses are used to work with all young people.
- You get a salary starting at around $110,000 at full time.
- Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.
- SCHCADS award level 6.
- Negotiable through the increments dependent upon the experience you bring or current level on the award.
- Full time, permanent.
- Work in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
