Description

As the Payroll Team Lead, you will ensure operational excellence, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction while driving innovation and team development.

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the payroll team to foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing across multiple entities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments, deductions, and statutory submissions.
  • Review and approve payroll runs, reconciliations, and reports.
  • Support year-end payroll processes.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with legislation, awards, and tax obligations.
  • Assist with audits and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain quality assurance and stay current with regulatory changes.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate on system upgrades, testing, and integrations.
  • Maintain payroll procedures and training documentation.
  • Build cross functional relationships with HR, ER, Finance, and Operations.

Profile

  • Leadership style: flexible, engaging, transparent, open/honest, and a bit of fun Candidates who can build relationships and bring the team along the change management journey
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with payroll systems and a passion for continuous improvement.
