About The RolePhysiotherapy within Allied Health at North Canberra Hospital provides services to a range of clients in the Emergency Department, acute inpatient and specialised outpatient settings. Physiotherapists work closely with patients, carers, referrers, other health professionals and multidisciplinary teams to achieve safe, high quality patient care.
Physiotherapists play a key role in the multidisciplinary management of patients across the care continuum. This position works in collaboration with the physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team to deliver services, supporting patient flow and maximizing patient outcomes. Advanced Practice Physiotherapy positions will support the delivery of extended hours of service provision in the Emergency Department. These are new positions within the Emergency Department at North Canberra Hospital, and will extend the physiotherapy services currently available. Under supervision, you will play a key role in delivering high quality patient-centred care and associated functions to support service delivery in clinical areas.
Clinical supervision and professional development is provided through team structures, supervision support, competency-based assessments and professional development opportunities. You will be required to participate in shift, overtime, and/or restricted on-call rosters. Part time and casual hours will be considered. A merit pool may be developed to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
Pre-employment requirements include a National Police Check, compliance with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy, and CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.
Responsibilities- Deliver extended hours of service provision in the Emergency Department
