The Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher plays a vital role in the success of our hotel by providing exceptional customer service and upholding quality standards in the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Operates, cleans, and maintains the dishwashing equipment, ensuring all areas of the kitchen remain clean and sanitary.
  • Completes assigned prep work to support the kitchen team during regular service and banquet event preparation.
  • Adheres to Coast Hotels' standards when completing tasks.
  • Ensures the safety and security of the property, other ambassadors, and guests while performing duties.
  • Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels.
  • Serves as an ambassador for Coast Hotels.
  • Demonstrates a customer service attitude with internal and external contacts.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Some experience in a similar role is an asset; preference will be given to candidates who have completed or are currently enrolled in a culinary arts or professional cook training program.
  • FoofSafe or equivalent certification.
  • Hepatitis A Vaccination recommended.
  • Physical mobility and stamina.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to take verbal direction and read and apply instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Perform duties efficiently.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training is an asset.
  • Able to exemplify Coast's core values and thrive in a culture of accountability.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
