About The Role

  • Join a new social media and location-sharing platform launching in 2025.
  • Be part of a core team of Android and iOS engineers with significant autonomy and input.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our Android products as a key team member.
  • Encourage creative thinking and build scalable, modular solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications focusing on scalability, performance, and usability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and ship new features aligned with our mission of privacy, security, and innovation.
  • Optimize applications for speed and scalability across various Android devices and versions.
  • Write UI, Unit, and Functional Tests to ensure quality.
  • Investigate, debug, and fix production issues reported by users.
  • Stay updated on Android development trends, tools, and frameworks.
  • Contribute to best practices in coding, testing, and software design.
  • Share knowledge and ideas actively within the team.

What we are looking for

  • Significant experience developing, deploying, and maintaining apps with Android SDK in Kotlin.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose, Room, and Google Maps is a plus.
  • Experience implementing encryption is a bonus.
  • Ability to build maintainable and exceptional apps.
  • Knowledge of modern software development techniques and design patterns.
  • Strong product and design instincts and involvement in product decisions.
  • Understanding of continuous integration principles and processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in rapidly growing companies is a plus.

This role is based in Melbourne, Australia, requiring working from the office located opposite Flinders Street Station in Southbank. Flexibility to work from home is available based on work schedule. A high-end MacBook Pro with dual 43" monitors, test devices, and necessary equipment will be provided.

Remuneration

  • 125k - 175k Base + Bonuses (10k - 25k) + Super (total package over 200k at the high end)
