Overview

Join to apply for the Laboratory Technician role at Brickworks Building Products. The position is based in Rochedale, QLD, reporting to the Technical Manager. You will conduct research, testing and analysis of brick and masonry products to relevant standards and support collaborative research initiatives to develop market-leading products.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct product testing and experimentation aligned with business goals
  • Research background literature to support R&D activities
  • Assist in maintaining accreditations such as NATA
  • Assist with collaborative research projects and trials
  • Participate in learning and development opportunities
  • Rotate between company sites as required, with flexibility for travel
  • Support operational needs including varied hours and tasks
  • Maintain compliance with WHS policies and procedures
  • Report unsafe practices and contribute to a safe work environment
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Science or relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of materials science and scientific methodology
  • Familiarity with engineering/scientific terminology and standards
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team outcomes
  • Initiative-driven with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to work in manufacturing environments (dust, noise, heat)
