Clinical Nurse - Quality and Risk/Infection Control at Healthscope
Responsibilities- Position responsibilities include providing support for the Quality/Risk and Infection Control programs to complement the strategic direction, daily operational processes and the continual achievement of accreditation for the hospital.
- Reporting to the Quality, Risk and Infection Control Manager, assist in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Quality and Infection Control procedures, practices and standards.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary team and participate in relevant committees to collect and collate data, key performance indicators (KPIs) and infection control clinical indicators.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of National Quality Safety Healthcare Standards (NSQHS) and ACHS Accreditation System; support clinical teams to meet required standards.
- Conduct clinical audits, monitoring and surveillance as required.
- Undertake direct patient care as needed, providing guidance and support to less experienced nursing staff.
- Provide education and training to staff on relevant topics.
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- At least 5 years post-graduate experience and/or qualifications in Infection Control and/or Quality Management
- Experience in the Acute setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills
- Immunisation certificate (or working towards)
- With 70 inpatient Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation beds, a rehabilitation gym and 3 operating theatres located on the Redcliffe Peninsula our facility averages 760 admissions per month.
