Location: Gloucester Waste Water Treatment Plant, Thunderbolts Way, Gloucester, with potential postings to other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Role DescriptionJoin our Water Management and Treatment team as a Trainee to gain hands-on experience in water and wastewater operations. This role offers real skills in an essential industry, supported by a nationally recognised qualification.
Responsibilities- Keep water and wastewater systems running smoothly
- Assist with repairs, maintenance, and upgrades to pipelines and treatment equipment
- Respond to system issues and help manage emergency call-outs
- Collect samples and learn how water and wastewater are treated
- Attend TAFE and complete Cert III Water Industry Operations (2 years)
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable, curious, and able to work as part of a team
- Interest in practical, hands-on work and willingness to get hands dirty
- Commitment to attending TAFE and completing training requirements
No experience? No problem. This is a traineeship, so we'll provide all training and support; you bring the right attitude.
Pre-employment checks: A basic skills assessment and medical check are required (medical may include drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical components).
Employment Details- Successful candidates will commence employment on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.

Location: Gloucester Waste Water Treatment Plant (and other sites as required)
