Our clinics in Cairns and Mount Sheridan are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join the team on a full-time or casual basis with availability to work between the core hours of 7:45am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Role Overview:

As a Medical Receptionist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your responsibilities will include:

Patient Interaction:

  • Greet patients and other callers professionally and courteously.
  • Accurately input patient data.
  • Assist patients with appointment scheduling.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Manage medical records confidentially and efficiently.
  • Process patient payments (cash, Eftpos, direct billing).
  • Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, CTP, DVA, and Workcover.
  • Handle internal emails and inquiries.
  • Maintain a tidy reception waiting area.

Collaboration:

  • Work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Communicate with referring doctors courteously.
  • Fill in the roster when staff are on annual or sick leave.
  • Ensure accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills (knowledge of medical software and Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Radiology or Medical Reception experience highly regarded.
