As a key player in the Defence industry, UGL plays a crucial role in supporting the Australian Defence Force across 100 locations nationwide. From operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply services, our team's expertise ensures we deliver effectively and sustainably.

Due to expanding scope within UGL's portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Electrician with Hazardous Area certification to join our Maintenance team at HMAS Defence Base, Albatross, Shoalhaven. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Australian Defence environment supporting national security. You will benefit from working with a Tier 1 services provider in a long-term operations and maintenance contract.

The Role

Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at HMAS Albatross, supporting surrounding locations in the Shoalhaven region, with occasional regional travel. You will be part of a core team of UGL technicians. Your duties will include:

  • Performing scheduled maintenance and servicing of fuel installation assets and equipment
  • Diagnostics and repairs in breakdown scenarios of fuel-related assets and equipment
  • Project work on fuel installations and related assets as required
  • Supporting subcontracted work packages
  • Supporting various sites in the Shoalhaven region, with occasional travel to other sites throughout NSW
Rates (Effective from 1st July 2025)
  • Level 1 - $45.74 + Super + Tool Allowance ($36.43 weekly) + Licence Allowance ($50.40 weekly)
  • Level 2 - $49.34 + Super + Tool Allowance + Licence Allowance
  • Level 3 (Dual trade) - $52.95 + Super + Tool Allowance + Licence Allowance
What You Need
  • Cert IV in Instrumentation and A-grade electrical licence with relevant post-trade experience
  • Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas
  • EEHA trained (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas)
  • Confined space and working at heights tickets are highly regarded
  • Ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance
