The Cairns Regional Chief Radiographer is responsible for the operational delivery of Medical Imaging services across multiple Queensland X-ray practices across the Cairns region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operationally manage Medical Imaging clinical services across multiple Queensland X-ray practices in the Cairns Region under the direction of the managing radiologist/s and Radiography Operations Manager in accordance with Queensland X-ray operational requirements.
  • Apply well-developed clinical knowledge and skills to the management of Medical Imaging services across the Cairns Region ensuring alignment with Queensland X-ray operational requirements.
  • Foster and promote a culture of service excellence through continuing demonstration of a high level of responsibility, accountability and initiative across all aspects of medical imaging service provision across the Cairns Region.
  • Lead the development of service improvement initiatives across multiple Queensland X-ray practices to ensure the provision of high quality Medical Imaging services in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary practice leadership group.
  • Build advanced leadership and operational management capabilities in the Chief Radiographers and/or Radiographer In Charge positions across the region.
  • Lead change management processes with direction from the Radiography Operations Manager and in collaboration with the Chief Radiographers and/or Radiographer in Charge positions across the region.
  • Apply expertise to solve large-scale and/or complex regional, clinical service or work-flow problems.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging or other relevant field of study within radiology.
  • Previous leadership experience in a multi-modality setting in a major metropolitan or regional area.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a medical imaging department.
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality across all areas of the business.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and maturity.
  • Ability to work autonomously with high attention to detail.
