About Our School

Sophia College is a Catholic secondary school located in the Lockyer Valley, approximately 80kms west of Brisbane. The College opened in January 2021 and continues to grow, with a Catholic identity enriched by Franciscan spirituality and a focus on integral ecology. The school emphasises innovative learning, collaboration, professional development, and student-centred education. Facilities are modern, with classrooms, laboratories and recreational spaces to support teaching and learning.

Opportunity Responsibilities
  • Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with curriculum policies and practices
  • Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes to students, parents and the community
  • Working with the leadership team, teachers and staff to contribute to school life and culture
  • Engaging with professional learning to enhance student outcomes
  • Establishing positive relationships in pastoral care and supporting spiritual and moral development
  • Ensuring the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching
About You
  • Creating a supportive, learner-focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum
  • Designing and delivering effective curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Engaging with colleagues, students and parents to enrich learning experiences and outcomes
  • Supporting students\' spiritual and moral development
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers
