Job Description:

Excellent benefits including salary packaging

Friendly and supportive team environment

Permanent, full time position

Better and fairer care. Always.

St Vincent's has been a leader in Australia's health and aged care landscape for more than 165 years. Since our founders, the Sisters of Charity, opened our first hospital in 1857, our services and people have been behind some of Australia's most important medical breakthroughs. We are a microcosm of our Australia's health and aged care system and are uniquely positioned to lead and respond to our rapidly changing environment.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a special kind of person - a St Vincent's kind of person. Someone who puts compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.

Reporting directly to the Decision Support Unit Manager, St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated Decision Support Partner to provide actionable insights and enhance data-driven decision making through delivery of business intelligence (BI) and business analytics (BA) solutions.

Located on the main campus of St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and close to public transport and parking, the Decision Support Unit is a small and collegial team of business and data analysts who add value to the organisation through provisioning and maintaining key performance information and insights.

As a key member of the Decision Support Unit; the successful applicant will champion the use of analytics and stakeholder management to drive continuous improvement and organisational success.

This role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to understand needs, streamline processes and contribute to impactful analytics projects; while also assisting in the development and maintenance of key reports and dashboards.

Classifications for this position will range from HS4 - HS29 ($83,657.60 - $92, 482 per annum) plus an over award.

Key Responsibilities

Primary day to day accountabilities for this business-critical appointment include:

Leading initiatives that combine both BI and BA to address complex challenges and opportunities, and conducting in-depth analyses to identify trends, patterns and opportunities

Designing, developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using Power BI, SSMS and Report Builder

Identifying inefficiencies and recommending data-driven solutions to optimise organisational workflows while monitoring key performance indicators to track progress and highlight opportunities for enhancement

Facilitating workshops and presentations to align stakeholders on insights and strategies

Collaborating with clinical and operational teams to define organisational data needs and priorities and leverage data for strategic improvement

Selection Criteria

When formalising your application, please consider the following selection criteria:

Strong data visualisation skills including the ability to deliver clear, targeted and impactful user experience reports

Proficiency in Power BI, SSMA and Report Builder

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders

Because you're like us, you believe in our vision that every person, whoever and wherever they are, is served with excellent and compassionate care, by a better and fairer health and aged care system. Better for all our employees and volunteers, who work tirelessly to provide the highest levels of care and quality of life for our patients and clients; and better support for the local communities we play an important role in and continue to support.

What we Offer

A focus on wellbeing initiatives, with regular events and programs

Confidential, solutions-focused employee counselling

A healthy work/life balance encouraged. Full time employment comes with a monthly Accrued Day Off ( additional day off per month)
