Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial/Construction

To leverage your deep front-end construction experience in a role that sits in our Source Commercial & Legal team, negotiating and advising on contracts, frameworks and procurement strategies that support our client base.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you'll work across our portfolio of clients helping businesses navigate complex construction matters with practical, in-house style advice.

At Source, we're all about flexibility — so you can do your best work in a way that suits you. This role can be 100% remote from anywhere in Australia, or you're welcome to base yourself out of one of our beautiful offices. Brisbane-based? Even better.

We're also open to a part-time arrangement (4 days/week) for the right candidate.

The Role

As Senior Legal Counsel in our Commercial & Legal team, you'll collaborate with clients across a broad range of construction-focused matters. You'll:

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to business leaders, often as an extension of their internal team
• Manage legal risk across procurement, supply chains and contract frameworks
• Operate independently and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders
• Be part of a high-performing team that values autonomy, responsiveness and grounded commercial judgement

This role is perfect for someone who loves the practical side of legal work, thrives in a self-managed environment, and is energised by variety and making an impact.

What We're Looking For

We're after a seasoned commercial lawyer with a strong front-end construction focus. You'll bring:

• 8+ years' PQE, ideally with in-house experience already under your belt.
• Extensive front-end construction experience is essential, particularly in infrastructure and/or mining services.
• A practical mindset and the ability to deliver advice that balances legal risk with commercial outcomes
• A self-starter attitude and someone who thrives working independently and with confidence
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
