About the role

In our Digital Solutions Orebody Intelligence (OBI) group we design and commercialise cutting-edge measurement technology that is reshaping the Mining and Exploration sectors. We are looking to add a Lead Electronics Engineer to our downhole geophysics team; a critical role as we transition from a working prototype spectroscopy tool, to finalising the production version. • End-to-end development and support of advanced geophysical logging and telemetry tools.
  • Designing and reviewing electronic assemblies and firmware (Linux, C++, Python).
  • Providing hands-on design, testing, assembly and repair of geophysical tools and components.
  • Contributing to product innovation, documentation, and scalable manufacturing.
  • Supporting multiple projects with electronic control expertise and technical guidance.
What you will bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering plus 5+ years industry experience.
  • 3+ years leadership or project management experience.
  • Proven expertise in digital signal processing, fast ADCs, MCAs, and Zynq-based applications.
  • Skilled in hardware design: VHDL/Verilog, Xilinx/Altera platforms, analogue/digital circuits, CAD, and simulation tools.
  • Proficient in firmware and controller development, with Linux, C++, and Python programming experience.
  • Strong cross-disciplinary understanding and safety-conscious approach aligned with engineering standards.
