Senior Project Manager

ASC is Australia's submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy's Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats' service lives. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Nuclear and Capability (N&C) Business Unit, as we grow ASC capabilities to support both Collins Class and Nuclear-Powered Submarine Programs.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex, long-term business capability growth & enhancement projects. You will coordinate cross functional teams and ensure successful delivery of strategic objectives within N&C Business Unit. The Senior Project Manager will be pivotal in establishing and leading project teams, supporting and developing project management talent, establishing project management governance framework, and driving project execution across a diverse portfolio within the N&C Business Unit.

• Establish, lead and manage project teams to deliver strategic objectives
• Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
• Develop project management governance framework
• Establish schedule risk assessments and identify and mitigate project risks
• Support and develop project management talent
• Coordinate with key internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with defence and safety standards
• Report on project progress to senior leadership
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation

• Minimum 10 years' experience in complex project environments
• Proven leadership in setting up project teams, managing project managers and coordinators, as well as developing talent
• Strong governance and process development capabilities
• Understanding and experience working in centralised services business model
• Skilled in managing diverse projects (e.g. supply chain, workforce, technology, infrastructure)
• Proficient in project management tools (e.g. Primavera P6, Jira, Cobra)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Autonomous, goal-directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Tertiary qualifications in a technical or project management discipline

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
