Job Title: SAP FICO SME – S/4HANA Program Lead

Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned SAP FICO Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the Finance workstream of a complex S/4HANA transformation program. This is a strategic leadership role requiring deep functional knowledge, advisory capability, and hands-on implementation experience across core FICO modules in an S/4HANA environment. The SME will act as a key advisor to both business and technical teams, ensuring end-to-end solution integrity, stakeholder alignment, and successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Finance functional lead and SME for S/4HANA implementation across multiple entities or business units.
• Own the solution architecture, roadmap, and design of core FICO modules including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, CO-CCA, CO-PCA, Internal Orders, and Tax.
• Advise the client on best practices, industry standards, and strategic use of S/4HANA innovations (e.g. Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, Central Finance).
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align system design with business objectives and transformation goals.
• Drive and oversee fit-gap analysis, blueprinting, configuration, testing, data migration, and cutover activities.
• Ensure strong integration with other modules (MM, SD, PS, HCM), external systems, and business functions.
• Lead and mentor functional consultants; provide governance over deliverables and quality assurance.
• Define and enforce controls, compliance standards, and audit readiness for financial processes.
• Contribute to change management, training, and knowledge transfer for internal teams and business users.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 10–15 years of SAP FICO experience, with at least 3 end-to-end implementations, including 2 on S/4HANA.
• Proven experience in a lead or SME role on large-scale finance transformation or S/4HANA programs.
• Expert-level knowledge of core FICO modules, including New GL, AA, CO (CCA/PCA), and taxation.
• Strong understanding of S/4HANA Finance capabilities, Universal Journal, Fiori apps, and reporting.
• Ability to translate business requirements into robust SAP solutions and influence key design decisions.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing senior stakeholders in complex environments.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• SAP FICO and/or S/4HANA certifications preferred.
• Exposure to SAP Central Finance, Group Reporting, or Treasury and Risk Management (TRM).
• Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and experience with Agile delivery models.
• Background in regulated industries (government, banking, utilities, etc.) a strong advantage.
