Nurse Unit Manager Level 1 – Maitland Dialysis Unit at NSW Health. Remuneration: $127,091.34 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging. Location: The Maitland Hospital. About the Role

As the Clinical Nurse Unit Manager (CNUM) for the Renal Unit, you will lead a dedicated team of nursing professionals, supervise and support nursing staff, and ensure the highest standard of patient care within the unit. You will provide expert advice on patient management and care, coordinate service delivery and patient flow, and collaborate with the wider John Hunter Hospital Dialysis Service. Some travel between Maitland Unit and other parts of the John Hunter Hospital Dialysis Service may be required to ensure coordinated care. This is a full-time role with shifts based on operational needs; hours are flexible to ensure coverage across all shifts and to maintain efficient service delivery.

Location details: Maitland Hospital has transitioned to a new facility (January 2022) with state-of-the-art technology. The unit works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver timely assessments and treatments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Renal Unit with a compassionate and adaptable leadership style.
  • Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely patient assessments and treatments.
  • Support, supervise, and provide direction to nursing staff; act as a go-to expert for patient management.
  • Coordinate service delivery and patient flow within the Maitland unit and across the John Hunter Hospital Dialysis Service as needed.
Qualifications
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA with relevant postgraduate qualifications in management or a relevant specialty; demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
