About the role

Urban Pour Concrete Solutions is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our dynamic team in Melbourne, VIC 3004. As a Leading Hand, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating construction projects, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality concrete solutions. This full-time position offers the opportunity to be a part of a fast-paced and innovative company, where your leadership skills and technical expertise will be valued.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of construction workers to ensure the timely and efficient completion of concrete pouring and finishing tasks
  • Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and communicate progress
  • Oversee the safe and compliant execution of all work, adhering to relevant health and safety regulations
  • Provide hands-on guidance and training to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on site, taking a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to project progress, materials usage, and team performance

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Leading Hand or Foreperson in the construction industry, with a focus on concrete pouring and finishing
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Valid driver's licence and construction industry certifications (e.g., White Card, Forklift Licence)
