A rare opportunity has opened at a highly regarded national firm for an experienced Defendant-Side Abuse Lawyer to join their insurance and institutional liability team. This is a litigation-focused role with exposure to significant institutional clients, defending historical abuse claims with sensitivity and skill.

You'll work alongside senior practitioners in a genuinely collegiate, respectful environment, where flexibility, quality of work, and manageable billable targets are the norm; not the exception.

The Role

This is a permanent, ongoing position offering real scope to specialise and grow within abuse law. Working with senior lawyers and partners who are leaders in the field, your responsibilities will include:

  • Running a diverse and sensitive file load of abuse law matters from end to end
  • Drafting advices, pleadings, and court documents
  • Appearing at directions hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
  • Collaborating with a close-knit, high-calibre team
  • Supporting strategic litigation

Ideal for someone with 3–8 years PQE and prior experience in abuse litigation or institutional liability. You'll enjoy being part of a team that values technical excellence without the burnout.
