Job Title: Child/Adult Protective Services Specialist

About the Job

The State of Hawaii is seeking highly motivated and dedicated professionals to fill Child/Adult Protective Services Specialist positions within the Department of Human Services - Child Welfare Services Branch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct investigations to identify and confirm cases of child/dependent adult abuse/neglect
  • Develop and implement primary treatment plans, including termination of parental rights as necessary
  • Provide support and services to individuals and families in crisis
  • Collaborate with community agencies and other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery
Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in courses such as counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology, or other behavioral sciences
  • Have one and one-half years of progressively responsible professional work experience involving helping individuals and their families find satisfactory ways of identifying their problems, coping with their conditions, and functioning effectively within their environments
  • Have one year of professional social or human service work that primarily involved conducting investigations and developing treatment plans
  • Possess a valid driver's license (for some positions)

This position offers a competitive salary range of $6066 to $6774 per month, depending on qualifications and placement. The State of Hawaii also offers a range of benefits, including paid time off, health insurance, and retirement plans.
