Overview

Data Governance Analyst at Standards Australia. You will work with stakeholders to deliver Standards Australia's data strategy, including the creation of data management procedures and the delivery of data governance policies and practices across SA.

Responsibilities
  • Champion and support an organisational understanding of the role of data
  • Understand and contribute to the definition of the type of data captured across the business
  • Develop and define data governance policies and procedures
  • Define data management processes
  • Define and monitor data quality across Standards Australia
  • Monitor alignment to data governance policy, standards and best practices for data management
  • Improve the design of data stewardship and governance processes in alignment with Standards Australia's data strategy and roadmap
  • Collaborate with the Security and Architecture Team and other stakeholders to support the data solutions build and ensure best governance practices for current and future data solutions
  • Establish, educate and promote best practices for dashboard and visualization management
  • Ensure large and complex data is accessible, understandable and usable
  • Support leaders and managers in developing dashboards, reports and control systems
About you / Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure
  • Experience in Power BI
  • Exposure to GIT, Python and SQL
  • Demonstrate clear commercial outcomes of the work and projects delivered
  • Good understanding of data governance best practices
  • Understanding of legal compliance requirements including the Privacy Act
  • Experience in defining data governance policy, data management procedures, data quality standards and monitoring adherence
  • Exposure to data governance principles and processes
  • Experience using data governance tools such as MS Purview or equivalent
  • Knowledge of metadata management, lineage and data quality
  • Minimum bachelor's degree (Business, Statistics or IT preferred)
  • Understanding of XML
  • Familiarity with data repository systems (BI infrastructures)
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in visual report design and presenting data effectively
  • Experience in data governance, data management or strategy delivery
  • Knowledge of Data Governance Frameworks and related industry frameworks (COBIT, ISO27001, GDPR, DMBOK, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ML/AI Governance Frameworks and related government and industry frameworks (e.g., ISO 42001)
