Head of Energy Retail

Take ownership of our client's largest electricity customer account while leading a team of account managers and billing managers. This role plays a key part in transforming the billing function into a customer-focused, end-to-end account management model.

You'll manage complex embedded network accounts and help redefine how they deliver energy services, offering professional growth, autonomy and the ability to influence change in a high-impact role.

About the role

Reporting to the Executive Team, the National Accounts Lead is responsible for managing the most significant retail electricity customers and leading a team that oversees smaller accounts. You'll drive end-to-end service delivery, from billing to reporting and compliance, ensuring that KPIs are met, priorities are clear, and customer satisfaction is high.

Responsibilities

• Manage their largest and most complex electricity accounts, including key stakeholder engagement
• Lead a team of 10-16 (including casuals), transitioning to an account-based structure
• Coordinate billing, collections, and reporting activities across the team
• Ensure delivery of ENM and ENO obligations and oversee MSATS activity where applicable
• Support the onboarding and transition of new accounts into the billing portfolio
• Liaise with compliance and data teams to ensure accurate, standardised processes
• Interpret service contracts and ensure teams deliver to agreed KPIs and scopes
• Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency in billing processes

Skills/Experience Required

• Extensive experience in electricity retail billing
• Proven leadership experience managing operational teams and large customer accounts
• Strong knowledge of MSATS, ENM/ENO roles, and regulatory compliance in the retail energy sector
• Excellent relationship management and customer service delivery
• Ability to interpret contracts and manage delivery to service-level KPIs
• Stakeholder management and the ability to manage and develop clients
• Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills
• Commercial acumen with a focus on delivering outcomes efficiently and accurately
• Lead a key division in a growing renewable energy organisation
