Casual/Sessional Academic

Spring 2025: We currently expect to require one or more Casual Sessional Academics for the following courses/roles. These courses will be delivered by ANU staff in Japan as part of the Bell School Dual Degree program with Ritsumeikan University. The CSA(s) hired will be located in Canberra.

Semester One 2026

• STST8068 – Asian Strategy and Security: History, Theory, and Practice – Delivery of 12x2.5 hour seminars, course-relevant administration and marking

The Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs (Bell School) is a world-leading centre for research, education, and policy analysis on international and Asia Pacific politics, security, diplomacy, and strategic affairs. The School comprises several departments and centres including the Department of International Relations, the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, the Department of Political and Social Change, and the Department of Pacific Affairs.

As a casual sessional academic you will be involved in the delivery of CAP courses with support, guidance and direction from the Course Convenor and School staff. You will work both independently and as part of a team to inspire active and evidence-based learning in our courses and help students meet the stated learning outcomes.

A CSA shall have qualifications and/or experiences recognised by the institution as appropriate for the relevant discipline area. These include past teaching experience, high achievement in coursework, and employment in related topics to the courses offered by the school.
