Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health Child

We arelooking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Child and AdolescentMental Health to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team atWestern Australia Country Health Service.

As a ClinicalNurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in deliveringcommunity-based mental health care to complex clients within theGreat Southern region. Your responsibilities will encompassassessment, planning, case management, and the delivery ofhigh-quality clinical mental health services. This position notonly allows you to work closely with clients and their families butalso provides you with the opportunity to influence the developmentof clinical practice standards and policies.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Provide clinicalexpertise in the assessment and management of children andadolescents facing complex mental healthchallenges.
  • Develop and evaluateclinical practice standards and policies for Child andAdolescent Mental Health Service programmes.
  • Coordinate clinicalquality improvement, best practice initiatives, and riskmanagement activities within the team.
  • Facilitate effectiveworking relationships with General Hospitals, GPs, andnon-government organisations.
  • Offerprofessional support, supervision, and mentorship to nursingand clinical staff, fostering their professionaldevelopment.
  • Act asa resource for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service,providing expert consultancy and guidance to referring andassociated agencies.

IdealCandidate:

  • Extensive and recentexperience as a Community Mental Health Nurse with demonstratedexpert level skills in crisis intervention, assessment,treatment and case management of children and adolescents withcomplex mental disorders.
  • Advanced knowledge andability to initiate and manage interventions under the MentalHealth Act 2014 and in line with National Mental HealthStandards.
  • Demonstrated abilityin negotiation, problem solving, analytical and conflictresolution skills, in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated clinicalleadership skills, including skills in providing clinicalsupervision, and performance development withstaff.
  • Demonstrated abilityto work independently or with other health professionals withina multidisciplinary team.
