Overview

The Defence Department is hiring a public relations officer for the Australian Army, to be based in Melbourne.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of PR practitioners who will manage the Army's branding and reputation development efforts through press releases, videos, and social media content.
  • Talk with the Army's senior command staff on building new communication strategies, media relations, and issues management.
  • Work may require assignment to Defence Force HQ in Canberra or attached with units on deployment.
Qualifications
  • Open exclusively to Australian citizens who graduated with PR, Corporate Communications, or Journalism degrees with at least three years' experience.
  • Must pass the standard ADF physical fitness test and undergo background checks.
