Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Maine.

Our professional engineers and technicians successfully oversee project construction from pre-construction through finalization with an outstanding track record for cost and schedule containment. Our certified construction professionals have extensive on-the-job experience in supervision, observation, safety oversight, and inspection with ongoing training to ensure adherence to daily schedules and that all materials are procured and constructed according to plans and specifications. We work with clients to achieve the best value, schedule, and quality for projects including heavy highway, bridges, intersection and traffic signal improvements, marine works, water/wastewater transmission, building and vertical construction, park and recreation projects, and asset assessments.

Our construction professionals understand the impact of construction on surrounding communities and actively foster public relations and communication with local business owners, residents, and elected officials.

This position is based in Maine, with candidates expected to work out of our Brunswick or Biddeford offices.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect bridge and highway construction projects, including measuring, calculating quantities, and documenting work via reports, photos, and sketches.
  • Coordinate and oversee construction inspection documentation.
  • Ensure work complies with MaineDOT specifications.
  • Apply project plans, policies, standards, and specifications to make informed decisions.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate effectively across all project levels.
  • Coordinate activities on-site and resolve related issues.
Qualifications
  • Experience with federally-aided transportation projects as a Construction Inspector is preferred.
  • Experience with MaineDOT or municipal clients and knowledge of general and highway construction is advantageous.
  • At least ACI or Construction Certification, or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong communication and mathematics skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and software.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Experience with Appia and/or CEES is a plus.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
