About The Role

Ecolab is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead procurement operations in ANZ, managing an annual spend of $280 million USD across direct and indirect procurement. This role suits an established leader with technical knowledge of chemicals, market insight into chemical suppliers, and a proven ability to drive strategic initiatives such as working capital expansion, cost model negotiations, digitalization efforts, and e-auctions. The successful candidate will manage a team of six professionals (including Procurement Managers and Assistant Procurement Managers), collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, and implement global procurement strategies in the Australian market.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Procurement Leadership
    • Oversee all procurement activities in ANZ, aligning with Ecolab's global procurement strategy.
    • Develop and execute initiatives for working capital expansion, cost model negotiations, and supplier risk mitigation plans.
    • Drive digitalization in procurement processes, including the implementation of e-auctions and other digital tools.
    • Ensure procurement resilience and capacity building to support long-term business growth.
    • Drive continuous improvement in sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
  2. Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of procurement managers and assistant procurement managers.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
    • Provide coaching and career development opportunities to team members.
  3. Stakeholder & Supplier Management
    • Collaborate closely with Australian business leaders and global stakeholders, including global chemical buyers and procurement specialists.
    • Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to optimize value and payment terms.
    • Ensure alignment between Australian operations and the company's global procurement goals.
  4. Operational Excellence & Compliance
    • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and sustainability standards.
    • Implement best practices for procurement efficiency, risk management, and supplier performance monitoring.
    • Drive digital transformation and innovation in procurement processes where applicable.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
  • Expertise in both direct and or indirect procurement, with a track record of delivering savings and cost efficiencies.
  • Experience managing procurement budgets of a similar scale.
  • Effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, with the ability to develop and inspire teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex, global environment and collaborate with international teams.
  • Technical knowledge of chemicals and market insight into chemical suppliers.
