EOI - Cleaner - Jacobs Well Environmental Education Centre

Jacobs Well Environmental Education Centre is seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Cleaner to join the facilities team. This is a split-shift role, with working hours from 7:00am to 10:00am and 2:00pm to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. This schedule ensures our centre remains clean, safe, and presentable before and after students and staff are on site. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining hygiene standards and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the centre. This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.72FTE), 57.5 hours per fortnight.
This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.
Who We Are
Jacobs Well Environmental Education Centre is committed to meeting the needs of our community by delivering programs that are closely aligned with the Australian Curriculum and support the classroom goals and priorities of visiting teachers. Our experienced staff provide a variety of engaging learning experiences, including day excursions, camp programs and incursions. We are dedicated to creating a safe, enjoyable, and high-quality educational environment for all students.
Step Into Your Next Chapter
- Sound knowledge of safe cleaning practices and chemical handling.
- Ensure all facilities are clean, hygienic, and ready for use at the start and end of each day.
- Perform daily cleaning of learning spaces, offices and communal spaces.
- Manage rubbish disposal and litter control.
- Clean and sanitise toilet and shower facilities.
- Clean dormitories as required.
- Clean the centre's bus after field trips, as needed.
- Assist with site security by unlocking and locking buildings and activating or disarming security systems in accordance with centre procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards and follow WHS procedures.
- Ability to work split shifts reliably.
- Confidence working independently with minimal supervision.
