Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Head of Cyber Security will be the operational leader for cyber security at St Vincent's. This role involves leading the end-to-end delivery of core security functions, including threat and vulnerability management, incident detection and response, and security engineering. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our security controls are well-designed, implemented, and maintained, supporting our enterprise-wide security strategy.

This is a Permanent Full-Time role based in any of our Group Head Offices in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne, with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in-office, 2 days remote). The role requires on-call availability as needed.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the Security Operations Team to deliver and manage cyber security for our information systems.
• Implement, maintain, and monitor our Information Security Management Framework.
• Scope, plan, and deliver complex security programs.
• Coordinate responses to security compliance and risk audits; manage security incident and risk triage.
• Maintain alignment of security risk profile and compliance with our risk appetite; develop procedures for addressing non-compliance.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing security team.
• Develop engagement strategies to promote understanding of information security risks across the enterprise.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of security leadership experience, with proven ability to engage with executive management and external vendors.
• Experience in establishing and managing a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
• Proven track record in developing cyber strategies and roadmaps, with at least 5 years in IT security controls management.
• Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop appropriate security controls; prior incident response experience is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of risk reporting, security standards, and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex security concepts for diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field; relevant security certifications are essential.
