Cyber Security & Cloud Analyst

Hudson is proud to partner exclusively with a local government organisation to assist in recruiting a Cyber Security & Cloud Analyst. Working within a small, close-knit IT team, this role will lead security initiatives across the organisation. The ideal candidate will embrace this opportunity to make a tangible and effective impact on cyber security maturity.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the security SME, managing technical controls and providing insights and reports on cyber security risks to management.
  • Respond to alerts from the EDR partner to ensure proper handling of cyber incidents.
  • Implement technical security controls to mitigate identified risks and align with cyber security frameworks (Essential 8).
  • Participate in cyber security GRC initiatives, including policy development, implementation, and risk assessments.
  • Provide security insights related to project implementations and third-party software solutions.
  • Educate business stakeholders on their cyber security responsibilities.
  • Assist the IT team in administering cloud and other IT systems, ensuring continuous operation for business users.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years in IT with a focus on cyber security.
  • Proven ability to respond effectively and swiftly to cyber security alerts to contain and eradicate threats.
  • Experience in administering and supporting cloud environments, preferably Azure.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server administration and support.
  • Ability to conduct cyber security risk assessments across various systems.
  • A self-driven, proactive work approach.
  • Knowledge of the ASD Essential 8 and associated controls.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
