Responsibilities
  • Maintaining biodiversity sites across Melbourne's parks and gardens
  • Hands-on ecological restoration and conservation efforts to support thriving spaces
  • Physical fieldwork in varying weather conditions
  • Maintaining biodiversity sites through herbicide application, hand weeding, brush-cutting, and woody weed removal
  • Identifying native and weed species to support ecological restoration projects
  • Promoting ecosystem longevity through habitat creation and regeneration processes
  • Managing vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and maintenance standards
  • Liaising with stakeholders and assisting with procurement and delivery of supplies
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum AQF 5 (Diploma) Qualifications in Conservation and Land Management, Environmental Science, Horticulture or similar
  • Chem Cert (Desirable)
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Working with Children Check (Or willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge of native and indigenous plants, as well as weed species
  • Demonstrated experience in conservation, land management, or similar roles
  • Understanding of ecological restoration principles and techniques
  • Practical experience with brush-cutters, augers, and pesticide application
