In this role, you'll:

Become a key member of our Technical Services team at Sydney Metro, contributing to the overall effectiveness of our Health and Safety Risk management and Assurance functions.

Core to this role you will be responsible for providing strategic recommendations that lead to policy development to improve safety performance across the organisation. Your strategic insights will come from reviewing and analysing Health and Safety data from various sources, collaborating with relevant stakeholders.

As a subject matter expert you will support the continuous improvement of Health and Safety processes, ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations, mitigating risks, and enhancing safety outcomes in a large-scale infrastructure environment.

About you

You are an experienced health and safety professional with a strong background in internal Health and Safety Risk Assurance, previous experience leading internal Health and Safety Risk Assurance activities. Important to the role is your deep understanding of Rail Safety, construction Safety, Occupational Health, and Heavy Vehicle Safety requirements.

You have an extensive background in risk assessments, evaluating critical risk treatment and assurance plans, and assessing the effectiveness of safety management system elements and action plans in large infrastructure projects.

With your expertise in both the practical and regulatory aspects of Health and Safety, you have the ability to influence senior leadership decisions by identifying areas for improvement and ensuring the effective management of Health and Safety risks. You are proactive, analytical, and have a strong track record in driving safety outcomes in high-stakes environments.
