The Role

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer / Team Lead to drive the execution of complex environmental engineering projects. This leadership role requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and a genuine passion for environmental stewardship. You'll manage a diverse portfolio of projects, lead a team of environmental scientists and engineers, and work closely with clients to ensure compliance, innovation, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and completion of environmental assessment and remediation projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable outcomes.

Client Engagement: Serve as the principal liaison for clients, managing relationships, project scopes, and deliverables.

Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance in contaminated land assessment, environmental site assessments (ESAs), waste classification, groundwater monitoring, and remediation strategies.

Team Development: Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a high-performance, learning-oriented culture.

Compliance & Risk Management: Navigate local/state environmental regulations and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Reporting: Prepare and review high-quality technical reports, environmental management plans (EMPs), and compliance documentation.

About You

Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.

Licenses: Australian driver's license and white card.

Experience: Minimum 6 years in environmental consulting or engineering, including leadership of multidisciplinary projects.

Certifications: CEnvP (Certified Environmental Practitioner) or eligibility for relevant national registrations will be advantageous.

Skills: Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills. Proficiency in environmental legislation, impact assessment, and contaminated land management is essential.
