Psychologist (Maternity Leave Cover) duties include:
- Provision of psychological assessments and interventions to clients with presentations such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and self-confidence issues.
- Delivery of evidence-based therapy to all ages.
- A strong focus in assisting clients experiencing mental health challenges, such as anxiety and adjustment difficulties.
- Provide high quality, evidence-based and client-centred interventions in a professional, confidential and culturally safe manner.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments (using clinical observations and standardised assessments) and interpret findings to formulate treatment goals.
- Be responsible for supporting and managing your caseload.
- Identify and address critical physical, psychological, social, environmental and organisational risk factors which may impact an individual's ability to return to work.
- Provide holistic support to help restore an individual's highest level of functional performance through assessments such as Initial Needs Assessment, Workplace Assessments and Vocational Assessments.
- Deliver Vocational Counselling and facilitate interventions, wellbeing programs, training and upskilling.
- Potential to develop and deliver new mental health programs.
- Identify and actively seek new business opportunities.
- Prepare and maintain records and case files, including client information, services provided, narratives of client contacts, and relevant correspondence in line with required standards, legislation and ethics guidelines.
- Monitor and record client progress to ensure goals and objectives are met.
- Confer with physicians, psychologists, occupational therapists and other professionals to support and facilitate general wellbeing and, where appropriate, return-to-work outcomes.
- Analyse information from interviews, educational and medical records, and diagnoses to assess clients' abilities, needs and eligibility for services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community referral sources, such as schools or community groups.
- Develop diagnostic procedures to determine clients' needs.
- Deliver any other assessments you have been trained to undertake.
- Maintain client confidentiality at all times; ensure that information is disclosed only to the correct parties.
- Other reasonable duties as directed.
- Full Australian working rights.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History Check upon successful application.
- A current driver's licence and vehicle insurance.
- Willingness to participate in any government-mandated vaccinations required to work within a healthcare setting.
- Honours Degree in Psychology (minimum).
- Eligible for registration with AHPRA as a Registered Psychologist.
- Desirable: Training in ACT, IPT, BT, CPT, Schema Frameworks.
- PGAP accredited or willing to complete.
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) or willing to complete.
- Knowledge and understanding of Workers' Compensation and injury management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic team environment.
- Conflict resolution skills with ability to positively influence stakeholders (injured workers, treaters, employers) contributing to sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
- Strong clinical reasoning and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- A desire to help people rehabilitate and make a positive difference in the community.
- Highest standard of ethics and self-motivation; initiative; flexibility to adapt to changing environments; strong commitment to accountability; attention to detail.
