Asset Health Technician – Heavy Mobile Equipment at Rio Tinto. This role is based in Western Australia with an 8 days on, 6 days off roster and reports to the Asset Health Supervisor.
This position is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia.
Responsibilities- Monitoring the health of heavy mining equipment using real time data.
- Inspect, identify and monitor cracks in the heavy mobile equipment fleet, providing guidance to the execution team on required actions.
- Conduct inspections at high-stress points in assets to determine asset condition (absence of cracks).
- Comply with all relevant internal and industry-accepted standards in the execution of NDT and condition-based inspection works, identifying and recommending improvements in NDT inspection and HME welding practices.
- Accurately report all completed inspections using approved reporting formats and templates, including SAP, and ensure data is maintained accurately in the relevant databases.
- Analyse HME data to identify and prioritise issues or activities identified as safety critical events whilst optimising production opportunities.
- Provide expert advice from experience on HME or via electronic manuals to increase machine availability or performance.
- Support root cause analysis activities.
- Work closely with maintenance and reliability engineers and specialist advisors.
- Identify predictive maintenance activities and generate notifications.
- Analyse HME oil samples and provide subsequent recommendations to sites.
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- An analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills, good communication and computer skills.
- Heavy machinery trade qualification.
- A strong safety-focused mindset.
- Knowledge of SAP maintenance systems.
- ISO9712 Certified in UT1, MT2 and VT2.
- ISO9712 Certified in UT2 Welds (preferred).
- Oil analysis experience.
- Experience in maintaining HME - Komatsu, Caterpillar, Hitachi.
