Infrastructure Services Division is seeking a temporary, flexible, and agile Principal Advisor for the Office of the Assistant Director-General (ADG), Services and Infrastructure Planning. Reporting to the Assistant Director-General, you will bring your executive advisory expertise, quick thinking, and problem-solving skills to support the Office of the Assistant Director-General, Services and Infrastructure Planning Branch.

About The Role
As the Principal Advisor, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Consulting with departmental officers and briefing the Assistant Director-General both verbally and in writing on emergent and critical issues that may require sensitive management or immediate attention.
  • Supporting the delivery of time-limited initiatives requiring information and coordination across multiple teams or business areas.
  • Ensuring high-level quality assurance and critical analysis of media, briefings, and submissions to ensure accuracy in content and presentation, aligned with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Engaging in policy analysis and preparing associated briefs, reports, and submissions on specific issues as required by the Assistant Director-General.
  • Developing, maintaining, and fostering effective networks, consultation, and liaison between the division, other department areas overseeing state schooling, other government departments, and key stakeholders to support the department's strategic agenda.
  • Promoting strong connections and fostering collaborative partnerships across the division and department.
  • Investigating and analyzing issues, leading and influencing others, communicating complex concepts, and making informed, customer-led recommendations to senior and executive management.
