What You'll Be Doing

The Sonographer will provide quality, sustainable diagnostic imaging service by actively participating in the multidisciplinary delivery of person-focused services to the patients, clients and clinicians of Southern NSW LHD. You will work within a team, contribute to the department roster, and participate in on-call as required. You will interpret request information, select the optimal protocol, and adapt protocols to a range of clinical scenarios while maintaining a broad scope of practice that includes general ultrasound exams, MSK, obstetrics and interventional imaging.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a full range of general ultrasound exams, including MSK, obstetrics and interventional imaging.
  • Work in a team, allocate workloads according to skills and competencies, and participate in the department roster including on-call as required.
  • Interpret request information, select the optimal protocol, and adapt protocols to clinical scenarios.
  • Ensure sustainable, on-going service provision by applying relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures to medical imaging and day-to-day operations.
Qualifications
  • Post-graduate qualifications in ultrasound with current registration with Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) as a Sonographer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence with ability and willingness to drive/travel as required (may involve long distances and overnight stays).
  • Evidence of ongoing personal continuing professional development (CPD) and contribution to supervision or development of others.
