The Project Officer role within the Legal Services Coordination Unit (LSCU) plays a crucial part in the Portfolio Governance and Executive Services department. The position involves liaising with government agencies, coordinating responses to coronial recommendations, and addressing DFV Board annual report recommendations.
- Coordinate whole-of-government reporting arrangements for coronial inquests and DFV Board recommendations, preparing high-quality government responses.
- Lead the Government response to the Child Death Review Board annual report, collaborating with relevant agencies and drafting cabinet submissions and briefing notes.
- Maintain strong relationships with departmental officers and central agency policy officials through effective liaison officer networks.
- Identify opportunities to enhance quality and reduce response times to recommendations, implementing initiatives accordingly.
- Prepare briefing notes, ministerial correspondence, and documents for the Attorney-General, senior departmental officers, and departmental units within the Department of Justice.
- Support the Director, LSCU in managing the Whole of Government legal Services Panel and Barristers List on an ad hoc basis.
- Collaborate with the Office of General Counsel on project initiatives, including coordinating external legal advice requests.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director, LSCU.
