Overview

Our modern Conference Centre at Lake Mac is thriving and we are seeking a Cook / Chef to assist the Catering Manager and support our growing ministry. Your new office will be a state of the art kitchen catering up to 300 guests and is set on the picturesque shores of Lake Macquarie with 6.5 hectares of water frontage plus an additional 40 hectares of adjoining bushland.

Who we're looking for
  • Lives out their Christian faith and is actively involved in church and ministry
  • Has trade qualifications in commercial cookery and/or catering (we will consider passion for cooking and kitchen work)
  • Can work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Has experience in Christian camps or conferences (a bonus, not a dealbreaker)
  • Knows how to handle high-volume food prep like a pro
  • Has led kitchen teams in fast-paced environments
  • Brings strong leadership, teamwork, and time management skills
  • Understands WHS standards and keeps things safe
  • Leads by doing – hands-on, servant-hearted style
  • Holds a valid Working with Children Check (or prepared to get one)
What you'll be doing
  • Leading daily kitchen operations and food production
  • Helping plan menus, prep food, manage stock and orders
  • Handling special dietary needs with care
  • Keeping the kitchen running smoothly and efficiently
  • Making sure everything's up to safety standards
