About the BusinessOur Finance, Digital and Customer Support Division oversees the department's budget and financial compliance responsibilities, its infrastructure and assets portfolio, as well as procurement and quality assurance functions, digital, data and technology and screening transformation. They provide support and strategic advice across the department regarding a range of DHS goals, systems and processes.
Role DetailsThe Interpreting and Translating Centre (ITC) is seeking multiple casual Interpreters and Translators in a variety of languages.
As an interpreter or translator, you will be enabling the communication between two or more parties speaking a language other than English and the English language. You must be appropriately trained and/or have practical experience as an interpreter or translator and hold NAATI credentials (where available).
We are seeking applications from people currently living/working in the Adelaide Metropolitan Area. Applicants will be required to complete a National Police Check and a Working with Children Screening Check.
The Interpreter and Translator roles are within the Finance, Digital and Customer Support Division and are accountable to the Manager, Interpreting and Translating Centre for:
- undertaking interpreting or translating assignments which result in effective communication for individuals of non-English-speaking background
- contributing to the efficient operation of the ITC.
The role will include interpreting/translating assignments, which may include face-to-face, telephone and video appointments.
Special Conditions- National Police Check required

- This is a casual role where working hours will be varied and irregular
- Some out of hours work may be required
- It would be desirable to hold a National Accreditation Authority (NAATI) Certification or a relevant diploma in Interpreting
