Overview

Carolina PRG is partnering with a well established, global company in the manufacturing and distribution industry. They are in search of a Senior Tax Accountant with a background in sales and use tax who is looking to work with a dynamic and well-rounded team. This person would oversee all sales and use compliance and recording.

Base pay range

$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the coordination and timely filing of monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns across various states.
  • Administer and optimize the use of Sales Tax Software.
  • Ensure customer exemption certificates are valid and up to date, and communicate with clients to address discrepancies or needed corrections.
  • Prepare and compile documentation for external audits involving sales, use, and property tax matters.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for compiling data and providing assistance to third-party preparers of personal property tax filings.
  • Track and review business license renewals and verify compliance with annual report obligations.
  • Support the development of annual tax budgets by providing estimates and insights related to sales and property taxes.
  • Evaluate occupational tax obligations to ensure compliance and accurate filing.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis on issues related to sales, use, and other indirect taxes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance compliance processes and workflows by integrating tax technology and recommending system improvements.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Sales and Use Tax experience
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Experience using Vertex or Avalara
  • Good communication and team oriented
