Overview

We're hiring a Part Time Senior Cook to lead the way in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional food service for our community at Ingenia Gardens Geelong. In this hands-on role, you'll take charge of meal preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and dining room standards, making sure every plate served is fresh, safe, and satisfying. You'll be part of a team that values respect, independence, and genuine community spirit.

Located close to shops, health services, and public transport, our beautifully landscaped village is all about connection, comfort, and care.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead meal preparation, ordering, and kitchen stock management while maintaining high food quality and minimising waste
  • Oversee food safety compliance as the site's Food Safety Supervisor, including temperature checks and documentation
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, dining area, and community spaces to meet health standards
  • Build positive relationships with residents and team members, always showing care, empathy, and professionalism
  • Follow WHS procedures, complete training, and safely handle chemicals and equipment in line with safety guidelines
About You
  • Qualified with Food Safety Supervisor accreditation and HACCP knowledge
  • "C" class driver's licence
  • Experienced in cooking and serving buffet-style meals, with a basic understanding of budgeting and cost control
  • Friendly, caring, and confident with great communication skills and a team-first attitude
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle feedback professionally and positively
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on kitchen work, including lifting, cleaning, and using PPE
