The role is to provide legal services, and where applicable oversee the provision of external legal services, to NAB's Business Bank in relation to the development and distribution of its products and services, and to identify and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risks as they arise. Knowledge as to requirements for either business lending or financial products desired.

In this role you will:

• Provide legal and regulatory insights and advice to support products distributed by NAB's Business Bank Division
• Proactively keep abreast of changes to law, legislation, regulatory guidance, reform and policy, to support the business in understanding and responding to such changes.
• Provide advice on potential regulatory breaches.
• Manage and prioritise own practice.
• Sign-off/approval in relation to legal risk matters, legal documentation, and legal advice prepared for and provided to Business Bank, covering products from business lending to transaction and saving products.
  
  

We're looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You will need:

• Practising lawyer with current practising certificate required, 6 years + PQE
• Experience providing institutions with general corporate legal and regulatory advice
• Experience in banking and financial services law preferred, experience in business lending desirable, including knowledge of regulation that applies to small businesses. Knowledge of Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act and the ASIC Act, also desirable.
• Build and maintain strong key stakeholder relationships and partner with the business and internal colleagues
• Drive continuous improvement to optimise customer and colleague experience
• Focus on simplification and clear communication
