Overview

Casual Kitchen Hand position located in the South Coast area (Albion Park and Shellharbour, NSW). MindChamps International Preschool & Early Learning is a global preschool and early childhood education provider with centres across six countries.

This is a Casual role with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities
  • Basic food preparation; assist in preparing and cooking all meals and snacks daily as required for the service in consultation with the approved menu.
  • Ensure all meals and snacks are ready by the time specified by classroom routines.
  • Carry out food preparation tasks in a timely fashion, to a high standard and within food hygiene and dietary guidelines.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen including bench tops, equipment, appliances and utensils.
  • Assist with weekly stock-taking and ordering.
  • Comply with relevant legislation, early childhood regulations and all policies, procedures and work guidelines.
What We Are Looking For
  • Previous experience as a kitchen hand and/or working within a childcare setting (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Relevant qualifications in Hospitality and/or Commercial Cookery (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Time, task and priority management; ability to follow instructions to ensure the safe and efficient running of the kitchen.
  • Ability to contribute as a team member to Workplace Health and Safety issues in the centre.
  • Ability to maintain high-quality standards of health and hygiene within the workplace.
  • Valid Working with Children Check and Food Handling Certificate; First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid Basic Food Handlers certificate (preferred).
