Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Commonwealth Bank Full time
  • You turn AI ambition into business outcomes

  • We're scaling safe, enterprise-grade AI and automation via experimentation into production.

  • Together, we'll help customers and colleagues work smarter—at scale.

Do work that matters

We're shaping the future of banking through intelligent automation and responsible AI. As a Product Manager, you'll lead the strategy and outcomes for reusable AI-enabled automation capabilities that squads across the bank can adopt with confidence—moving from promising pilots to measurable impact.

Your experience in operations delivery will be a strong advantage, helping bridge the gap between strategic ambition and practical execution. You'll bring a deep understanding of how automation can be embedded into real-world workflows, enabling scalable, secure, and human-centred transformation.

See yourself in our team

You'll join a high-impact group partnering with engineering, data, risk and change to productise AI in ways that are safe, scalable and measurable. You'll translate operational pain points into automated solutions—driving discovery, adoption and lifecycle improvement (not just launch day).

You'll work alongside a Senior Product Manager and Crew Lead, working closely with engineering and data scientist team, in applying SVPG-style product practices to keep desirability, feasibility and viability in balance throughout discovery and delivery.

What you'll do

  • Set and evolve the vision, strategy and roadmap for AI-enabled automation capabilities and foundational services.

  • Convert ambiguous opportunities into validated problems, lean experiments and shippable increments; instrument and report adoption/value (e.g., time saved, error reduction, EX/NPS uplift).

  • Build reusable orchestration patterns and guardrails (e.g., agent hand-offs, human-in-the-loop controls) that other teams can plug in quickly.

  • Embed responsible AI and governance by design—partner early with Risk, Security and Model Governance so teams adopt fast and safely.

  • Drive change and enablement with clear playbooks, onboarding and "one-to-few → one-to-many" rollouts.

  • Lead cross-functional delivery with Design, Engineering and Data; continuously balance trade-offs and ruthlessly prioritise outcomes.

We're interested in hearing from people who

  • Have end-to-end product ownership of platform/capability products, ideally taken from inception through scaling and continuous improvement.

  • Can point to AI/automation adoption they've led with measurable outcomes across multiple teams/processes.

  • Bring strong AI literacy (GenAI/LLM use-cases, autonomous orchestration, risk-aware deployment) and explain trade-offs clearly to non-experts.

  • Navigate risk, controls and governance confidently—baking safety, privacy and monitoring into roadmaps.

  • Excel at influence and change leadership—crafting enablement assets and growing adoption at pace.

  • Are fluent working with engineers and data teams in cloud-native environments and modern CI/CD; hands-on coding is a nice to have, not a must.

  • Have experience in operations delivery—understanding how to embed automation into complex, real-world processes.

If you meet most, but not all, of the above—please apply.

We value growth mindsets and transferable skills.
