About NBMLHD Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) provides public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region. The Drug & Alcohol Service offers free, non-judgmental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families.
Responsibilities- Deliver specialist care to patients with complex cognitive and behavioral challenges that affect diagnosis and require tailored interventions.
- Conduct neuropsychological assessments and prepare clinical reports, including information for NDIA/NDIS where applicable.
- Manage cases, offer evidence-based treatment recommendations, and formulate comprehensive management plans to support recovery and long-term wellbeing.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to case management for clients with complex issues.
- Apply knowledge of neuropsychological syndromes in drug and alcohol settings and related comorbidities where relevant.
- Master or Doctor of Clinical Neuropsychology or Clinical Psychology. AHPRA registration with endorsement or working towards endorsement to practice as a Clinical Neuropsychologist or Clinical Psychologist is required.
- Experience in neuropsychological assessments, treatment planning, report writing (including NDIS), and providing clinical feedback.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and in case management of clients with complex issues.
- Knowledge or experience in neuropsychological assessment/diagnosis in a drug and alcohol setting with complex comorbidities.
- Knowledge or experience in drug and alcohol assessments, treatment planning, cognitive rehabilitation, and willingness to apply these in the role.
- Experience with diverse patients with complex presentations, including neurological disorders, drug and alcohol, psychiatric, and other medical conditions.
- Commitment to working with Aboriginal patients, families and communities and improving health outcomes for socially disadvantaged groups.
- Current driver's license and willingness to use for work purposes.
- Temporary visa holder employment may occur only if no suitable permanent resident or citizen is identified; duration must not exceed visa conditions.
