About the Role

Our client seeks a Database Administrator to manage database environments for the Clearing applications using PostGres and/or MS-SQL DB technologies. Responsibilities include administration, configuration, installation, maintenance, tuning, and support within a team of existing DBAs covering Postgres and SQLServer.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure availability and performance of the Clearing database environment.
  • Manage non-production, production, and disaster recovery database environments.
  • Collaborate with support teams to optimize hardware resources.
  • Proactively monitor to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct trend analysis for capacity planning.
  • Implement enhancements, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Coordinate with business and technical teams for change management.
  • Analyze hardware issues before contacting support.
  • Follow Change Control procedures for system and application changes.
  • Develop and maintain runbooks for HA and DR tests and execute them.
  • Implement and support bank clearing applications across environments, including installation, releases, patches, and upgrades.
  • Work with architecture team on global infrastructure support.
  • Provide database expertise to development teams on deployment and configuration best practices.
Skills & Experience:
  • Expertise in Postgres Enterprise and/or Community editions.
  • Experience with Red Hat Cluster, especially with PostGres.
  • Support for streaming replication across sites.
  • Strong support skills in SQL and PostGres, including PGPool, PGBouncer, PEM, Failover Manager, and replication tools.
  • Understanding of architecture and operations within PostGres and MS-SQL environments.
  • Experience with RAC, RMAN, ASM, Data Guard, performance analysis.
  • High-level Linux administration skills.
  • Familiarity with OEM and engineered systems like Exadata and ODA.
  • Proficiency in PostgresSQL on RHEL, SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting (Bash/Python).
  • Capacity management and automation experience.
Essential Requirements:

Minimum 8 years of experience as an SQL/Postgres DBA.
