As the Senior Service Improvement Lead at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement across the institution. You'll lead high-impact initiatives, mentor improvement teams, and shape the university's approach to service excellence. This role offers you the opportunity to apply your expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and Business Process Management to transform operations, enhance student and staff experiences, and contribute to the university's global reputation for excellence.
Your responsibilities will include:- Strategic Leadership: Drive service improvement initiatives that deliver measurable value across the university.
- Capability Building: Design and deliver training programs to enhance university-wide improvement capabilities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Influence senior leaders to embed improvement methodologies and address complex challenges.
- Mentorship: Coach and empower staff to develop business improvement skills and lead initiatives.
- Methodology Application: Utilise a diverse toolkit of improvement methodologies to achieve optimal results.
You are an experienced improvement professional with a deep understanding of service and process enhancement methodologies, possessing the ability to lead complex initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels in a large, diverse organisation.
You will also:- Hold qualifications in Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, or related fields, with extensive practical experience.
- Have tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, or Systems Thinking (desirable).
- Demonstrate a track record of applying improvement methodologies in complex service environments.
- Show advanced project management skills, including governance and risk management.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation abilities.
- Have experience developing and delivering technical training in improvement methodologies.
- Exhibit a growth mindset with empathy, curiosity, optimism, and resilience.
- Show the gravitas to motivate and influence senior stakeholders across a complex organisation.
- Be willing to work occasional hours outside of normal business hours.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
